How to Receive Wellspring TV

First of all, check that you are located inside the Wellspring TV coverage areas:

Hawke's Bay coverage area

Taupo and Turangi coverage area

If you are close to the transmitter site, it is possible to receive Wellspring TV using a simple set of "rabbit ears". However, for the best picture quality, it is recommended that you use a UHF aerial mounted on your roof.

If you can already receive Prime TV or Maori TV clearly, then you will also be able to receive Wellspring TV as they all operate on the UHF frequency band.

Note: Wellspring TV is not available on Sky TV or the new Freeview system. To receive Wellspring TV in Taupo or TVHB in Hawke's Bay, you do not require a set-top box or need to pay any subscription fees. It is completely free to watch.

How to tune your television into TVHB:

  1. Turn your television on
  2. On your remote control, press the channel button you have chosen for TVHB (suggest channel 5 or 6)
  3. Open the control panel on your television
  4. Press the pre-set button
  5. Start tuning by pressing + (up) or the tuning control
  6. When you have found TVHB or Channel 61 in Taupo, press the pre-set button again to lock the channel into the number you have chosen on your remote.

What if I don't have a UHF aerial on my roof?

If you live close to the transmitter site, you can purchase an amplified indoor UHF antenna from Dick Smith Electronics for around $60.
